Description   14mm spring type hose clamp called for on Vanagons with water-boxer and type 4 engines. Originally specified by VW instead of worm-drive clamps due to their ability be installed consistently without error, and the ability to self adjust to a hose as it compresses with age. Skip the worm-drive clamps for critical connections. While these clamps are still available. We took a cue from VW and moved to N10254901 ear clamps where these clamps are used. They have all the benefits of the spring clamps for this application, but cost less.
