This aftermarket horn ring, part number 321 419 661A AM, presses into the back of the steering wheel of 80-92 Vanagon models. It completes the circuit to sound the horn when the horn button is pressed. When going bad, it may be the reason your horn sounds on it's own. This fair quality, but the VW unit has a tighter fit. The ring from this part can be removed and remounted to the VW plastic base if you want to repair your VW unit.
