This part is no longer available. We are looking for a suitable alternative. However, item 255807296B can be modified to work. Remove the welded on upper fiberglass support and use two N0221464 nuts with the usual bolts to secure the bumper to the bracket.

This bracket, part number 255 807 296 040, supports the right (passenger) side of the rear bumper on every Vanagon with steel bumpers. It fits 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992 models.
